What did you use to make your sword?

All sorts of stuff... I used wood for the sword itself, and these foam mat things for the middle base area. Expanding foam for the sword head, and a pvc pipe for the hilt. To make the sticking-out things on the sides, I cut a few holes in the sides and put in cable ties.

[link] is a closer look at just the sword.

Yes.

That caledscratch.

I was originally going to make the Royal Derringer but decided that the caledscratch was way better in every way possible.

Yeah, location is annoying.

The caledscratch is what I put most work into, so I'm glad you like it!

looks good. The colors are a bit off, the hoodie was shaped differently, but it is a cosplay, you cant be entirely accurate. The sword is actually pretty awesome.

Thanks. We threw it together pretty casually, but most of the work was put into the sword. The hood was sewn at home in about 20 minutes, which is why it ain't that good.

That doesn't sound good. I spent five hours sewing a leg of a costume from the knee down. I intend to only have this one costume, And I have been planing it for almost a year, having only started building it a month or two ago, A lot of people don't put this much time and money into a costume, so for as long as I can have it, I'll always try to modify improvements. How long would you say it took to make the costume all together? 20min on the hoodie would be insanely fast unless you used a machine. (which for the record, as i am not it is why mine is taking an eternity)

I'm not sure how long the hoodie took precicely, but it was around 20-30 mins. Used a machine for it. The trousers were bought at a store, the red t-shirt I already have (just needed to add the design). The thing that took longest was the sword - spent a LOT of time on that!

Anyway, it's pretty much my first 'proper' cosplay (I don't count my other dave cosplay. It's far too simple.)
